It is my great honor to welcome you to the Seattle Kagoshima Kenjinkai.

シアトル鹿児島県人会へようこそ。皆さまをお迎えできることを、心よりうれしく思います。

 

For nearly 120 years, our organization has brought together people connected to Kagoshima and created a place where friendship, culture, and community can continue across generations.

約120年にわたり、シアトル鹿児島県人会は鹿児島にゆかりのある人々をつなぎ、世代を超えて友情や文化、そして地域のつながりを育んできました。

 

We are deeply grateful to the many individuals and families who came before us and built the foundation of this organization. Their dedication has allowed the Seattle Kagoshima Kenjinkai to remain a meaningful part of the Japanese and Japanese American community in the Seattle area for more than a century.

今日の県人会があるのは、これまで会を支え、礎を築いてくださった多くの先人やご家族の皆さまのおかげです。そのご尽力に心より感謝するとともに、シアトル地域の日系・日系アメリカ人コミュニティの中で、100年以上にわたり歩みを続けてこられたことを誇りに思います。

 

As we approach our 120th anniversary, we are reminded that our responsibility is not only to preserve this history, but also to carry it forward. We hope to create opportunities for younger generations, newcomers to the Seattle area, and anyone with a connection to or interest in Kagoshima to meet, learn from one another, and build new friendships.

120周年という大きな節目を迎えるにあたり、私たちの役割は歴史を守ることだけでなく、その思いを次の世代へつないでいくことだと感じています。若い世代の方々、シアトルに新しく来られた方々、そして鹿児島にゆかりや関心をお持ちの皆さまが出会い、互いに学び、新たなつながりを築ける場をつくっていきたいと考えています。

 

Our connection to Kagoshima is something we value deeply, and we hope to continue strengthening the relationship between Kagoshima and our community here in Seattle.

私たちは鹿児島とのつながりを大切にしながら、これからも鹿児島とシアトルのコミュニティとの交流をさらに深めていきたいと願っています。

 

Whether your family has been part of this community for generations, you recently arrived from Kagoshima, or you simply have an interest in Kagoshima and its culture, you are warmly welcome.

ご家族が何世代にもわたってこの地域に暮らしている方も、最近鹿児島から来られた方も、鹿児島やその文化に興味をお持ちの方も、どなたでも心から歓迎いたします。
